Staff Report From Columbus CEO
Wednesday, November 7th, 2018
The Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus is proud to announce that Synovus is a matching partner for Georgia Gives Day 2018, a one-day giving spree benefiting non-profit organizations state-wide. This means that the first $2,500 in donations made to this campaign on behalf of the Youth Orchestra will be doubled by Synovus. Donations can be made starting November 1st directly to YOGC designated to the campaign or on their Georgia Gives Day page at https://www.gagives.org/c/GGD/a/yogc.
Georgia Gives Day falls on November 27th and is a single-day philanthropy event that incentivizes donors to make a gift to organizations they are passionate about on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Opportunities to support include posting an #unselfie telling why you support your favorite causes, sharing your favorite nonprofits’ posts about the campaign, leveraging the hashtags #unselfie, #ggd, and #GivingTuesday on social media, and donating between November 1st - 27th.
"Our campaign focuses on helping cover the costs of the amazing music educators that work with our
musicians every single Monday. These professionals have a wealth of knowledge and experience that they share for an hour every week, and this campaign allows us to continue to employ the best coaches in our community. Mr. Palmer, Ms. Bennett, Dr. Murray, and Dr. Patterson are, after our musicians, YOGC’s most important assets. We fulfill YOGC’s mission to teach young musicians not only how to play at a high level, but also the vital soft skills that 21st century employers in all career paths look for in the hiring process. I truly hope that you will join The Bank of Here in supporting YOGC this year." – Stephanie Payne, YOGC Executive Director.
