Staff Report From Columbus CEO
Tuesday, March 12th, 2019
For the third consecutive year, Columbus Technical College culinary students will be using their newfound skills to help fund their globally-ready education. Culinary Expedition: Germany will be held this Thursday, March 14 at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center in Room 104 starting at 6:30 p.m. Chef Ester Rosenburg-Feil of Kirchheim, Germany will be on hand to help the students both prior to the event and during the dinner itself. Chef Rosenburg-Feil will be working with the students this Monday – Wednesday at the Direct Services kitchen at 2401 Hamilton Road. For the best video opportunity, media crews wishing to do an advance piece are welcome to visit the industrial kitchen Tuesday at around 2:00 in the afternoon.
During their two-week visit to Germany last summer, 12 students and two instructors were able to gain hands-on training at the Neckarwestheimer Culinary School, with pastry chefs, sustainable farmers, butchers, and even a Michelin Star Chef. This summer, students will return to Waterford, Ireland for another intensive learning experience.
There are still a very limited number of seats available for the fundraiser dinner and the deadline for purchasing is Tuesday, March 12 at noon. They are $75 per person and include a multi-course meal, live music, and amazing raffle prizes courtesy of our students in various program areas.
