The Technology Department of North Columbus Club of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley (BGCCV) will be sponsored by Kiwanis of Columbus. On Wednesday May 8th, 2019 at 4:45pm, Kiwanis will present a $2,600 check at North Columbus Club. This funding will allow North Club to increase technologies available to members in the Teen Room and Education Room as enhancement to their programming.

Technologies include an industrial size printer to aid members with school projects and homework assignments. Ten new laptops will enable members to grow their reading comprehension skills in Achieve3000, a Lexile learning platform. These same laptops will foster the development in coding and digital design for future leaders of tomorrow. Two additional computers will be purchased to support membership operations and administrative tasks. To ensure the security of the items North Columbus Club will also be able to purchase a dual locking and charging station cart.

BGCCV recognizes the importance of providing resources and activities to at-risk youth in the Chattahoochee Valley. Through partnerships with organizations such as Kiwanis of Columbus, Club members’ technical skills are cultivated by supporting the mission: “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens”.
