Jimmy Young Named Chief Financial Officer of St. Francis Hospital

St. Francis Hospital announced that Jimmy Young has been named Chief Financial Officer of St. Francis Hospital. He joined St. Francis on Monday, September 16 and is from Merit Health located in Mississippi where he served as Chief Financial Officer.
“We are so excited to have Jimmy step into this important leadership role,” said Dan Jones, Chief Executive Officer of St. Francis Hospital. “He is an exemplary leader with a tremendous amount of financial experience and expertise. His commitment to patient care, physicians, employees, and the community is evident in all that he does, and I know that he will help us further advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier.”
As Market Chief Financial Officer of Merit Health, Young oversaw the Jackson/Vicksburg, MS market for six for-profit, acute hospitals, which included over 30 physician clinics with an annual net revenue of $565 million and implemented productivity standards for each department to assist the department directors for area’s hospitals ranging from a 67-bed facility to 372-bed facility.
“Jimmy is a great fit for our hospital,” said Phillip Thayer, chair of St. Francis’s board of trustees. “We have been so impressed with his experience and knowledge, as well as his genuine care for people. We are really looking forward to working with him to lead the hospital forward.”
Prior to his role at Merit Health, Young spent two years as Chief Financial Officer at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory, MS; Chief Financial Officer at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, SC; and Chief Financial Officer at Southwest Regional Medical Center in Little Rock, AR.

Young holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. He and his wife, Susan, have four sons, Burland (21), Brewer (19), Blair (17) and Brock (12).
