Staff Report From Columbus CEO
Thursday, April 9th, 2020
On Monday, Apr. 13, 2020, road construction crews will start a Georgia DOT Quick Response project to install new designated right turn lanes on US 80/Georgia 22/Beaver Run Road at the Psalmond Road intersection. The new right turn lanes will be created in both eastbound and westbound lanes of Georgia 22, providing easier access for motorists turning on to Psalmond Road. The project is expected to be complete by the end of July, 2020.
The project had been slated to start in January, 2020 but was postponed due to prolonged wet weather.
Drivers are urged to be alert to the crews and their equipment in the area throughout the duration of the project. Lane closures may need to be enacted at times. When closures are in place, signage will be posted in advance of the work zone, and signal flaggers may be on site to direct motorists. Drivers are encouraged to slow their speeds through the area and to drive carefully through the work zone.
When: Starting Monday, Apr. 13, 2020 and to be completed by the end of July, 2020
