St. Francis-Emory Healthcare has established a regular update by Dr. Brandon Dawson, Medical Director of Emergency Services, to share information with the public related to COVID-19 including the status of hospital operations and the safety measures being taken to protect our patients, staff and community. These updates are delivered every two weeks by Dr. Dawson and are available on the hospital’s social media channel and website. 

As of August 18, 2020:

As reported by the Department of Public Health, cases of COVID-19 increased in Muscogee County through July, but have started to decrease over the past two weeks in August. Currently, St. Francis is treating more than 30 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 in our hospital. This number changes rapidly. Two weeks ago, we reported we were treating over 40 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19.

St. Francis continues to take all the necessary precautions to protect our patients and staff from COVID-19, including limiting entry points to the facility, screening all individuals for symptoms of COVID-19, universal masking, maintaining a strict zero-visitation protocol and cleaning and sanitizing all patient rooms and patient areas.
