Piedmont Physicians Surgical Specialists & Bariatrics on Warm Springs Road is proud to welcome surgeon Wesley Turton, MD, FACS, FASMBS.

Dr. Turton has over 30 years of clinical and surgical experience and has performed over 2,000 bariatric surgeries since 2007. His special interests are in advanced laparoscopic (minimally invasive) procedures as well as bariatric and robotic surgery.

He will be joining Dr. Paul Cartwright, who specializes in bariatric surgery (including revisions), anti-reflux surgery and treatment of Barrett's esophagus. He also performs other surgeries of abdomen including surgery for gallbladder disease and hernias. Dr Turton has been instrumental in bringing the most advanced surgical robot to the West Georgia area, performing the first robotic surgery in LaGrange several years ago. Since that time, Dr Turton has performed over 300 robotic surgeries.  

Piedmont Physicians Surgical Specialists & Bariatrics is nationally accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. They are the only providers who perform bariatric surgery within a 100-mile radius of Columbus. The office offers a comprehensive, concierge-style approach to the treatment of bariatric patients that extends well beyond the procedure and into follow up care.
