GDOT Awards 13 Contracts for Road Construction and Safety Projects in West Central Georgia

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced it awarded contracts for 13 new projects in District 3 (West Central Georgia region). The project bids were received on August 21, 2020 and the contracts awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on Sept. 4, 2020.
The projects are:

Henry, Pike, Spalding, Taylor and Upson Counties: the project involves rumble strip upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to TRP Construction Group of Fort Worth, Texas for $1.02 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs Counties: the project involves rumble strip upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to TRP Construction Group of Fort Worth, Texas for $1.06 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Coweta, Fayette, Meriwether and Troup Counties: the project involves rumble strip upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to TRP Construction Group of Fort Worth, Texas for $1.6 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Twiggs, Bleckley and Dodge Counties: the project involves signage and pavement marking upgrades at various railroad crossings in these counties. The contract was awarded to Peek Pavement Marking, LLC of Columbus, Georgia for $125,000. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Chattahoochee, Harris, Talbot and Muscogee Counties: the project involves rumble strip upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to TRP Construction Group of Fort Worth, Texas for $2.05 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Henry, Clayton and DeKalb Counties: the project involves signage upgrades at various locations on Interstate 675 in these counties. The contract was awarded to North Cherokee Electrical, Inc. of Canton, Georgia for $2.21 million. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of summer, 2021.

Dooly, Houston and Pulaski Counties: the project involves rumble strip upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to TRP Construction Group of Fort Worth, Texas for $1.27 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Coweta and Heard Counties: the project involves resurfacing and shoulder rehabilitation on various county roads in these counties. The contract was awarded to C. W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. of Marietta, Georgia for $319,000. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Macon, Schley and Sumter Counties: the project involves rumble strip upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to TRP Construction Group of Fort Worth, Texas for $841,000. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Marion County: the project involves signage and pavement marking upgrades on various county roads. The contract was awarded to Peek Pavement Marking, LLC of Columbus, Georgia for $330,000. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Marion, Stewart and Webster Counties: the project involves rumble strip upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to TRP Construction Group of Fort Worth, Texas for $1.7 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

Meriwether, Muscogee and Troup Counties: the project involves cable barrier upgrades at various locations in these counties. The contract was awarded to Massana, Inc. of Tyrone, Georgia for $4.2 million. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of summer, 2021.

Talbot County: the project involves signage and pavement marking upgrades on various county roads. The contract was awarded to Peek Pavement Marking, LLC of Columbus, Georgia for $343,500. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.
The contracts were 13 of 38 awarded statewide on Sept. 4. The entire state's construction contracts awarded in August totaled $84 million, of which 39% were for safety-related projects, including the rumble strip, signage, pavement marking and cable barrier projects listed above.
The August awards bring the state of Georgia's total construction contracts for Fiscal Year 2021 to $196.5 million, including Transportation Investment Act (TIA) projects, Design-Build and locally administered projects. Fiscal Year 2021 consists of the twelve months from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
