St. Francis-Emory Healthcare Welcomes New Physicians

St. Francis-Emory Healthcare has welcomed five new physicians. The physicians joining are Sean Blake, DO, DPT specializing in orthopaedics and hand surgery, Danisa Clarrett, MD specializing in gastroenterology, Saundra Holseth, DO specializing in family, sports, and neuromuscular medicine, Christina Tompkins, MD specializing in electrophysiology, and Geoffrey Vester, MD specializing in psychiatry.
“This comprehensive team of providers brings years of experience in treating a range of specialties, and they are an excellent addition to our hospital team,” said Melody Trimble, chief executive officer of St. Francis. “Each physician’s expertise will be important as we are striving to meet our region’s evolving healthcare needs and make our community healthier.”
Returning to Chattahoochee Valley and St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute to practice, Dr. Blake is a board-certified and fellowship trained hand surgeon. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine training at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Among the hand, wrist and elbow procedures Dr. Blake performs are knuckle joint replacement, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Arthritis for hand and thumb, fusions for arthritis, and a range of conditions.
Dr. Clarrett has joined St. Francis Digestive Disorders specializing in a range of digestive disorders like ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and colonoscopies. She is board-certified in internal medicine. Dr. Clarrett completed medical school from the University of Cincinnati, a residency from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a gastroenterology fellowship from St. Louis University.
Bringing a unique combination of specialties, Dr. Holseth has joined St. Francis Columbus Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic offering a full spectrum of primary care services. Dr. Holseth graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia, and completed her residency at Larkin Community Hospital. Her sports medicine fellowship was completed from NOVA Southeastern University. Dr. Holseth is board-certified in Family Medicine, neuromuscular medicine, and sports medicine.
Dr. Tompkins is the newest provider for St. Francis Electrophysiology. She is board-certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular disease and completed medical school at Georgetown University. Dr. Tompkins completed her residency and fellowship at John Hopkins University. She specializes in complex cardiac ablations, SVT ablations, cardiac device implantation and management, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and lead extractions. Due to her arrival, the EP clinic has been extended to five days a week.
Adding to the team of psychiatrists, Dr. Vester is joining The Bradley Center’s psychiatry practice, St. Francis Psychiatry. Dr. Vester attended medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, and completed his residency at Louisiana State University – Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
