If you missed registering for regular and term I spring classes, there's still time, and scholarships are available. Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) offers term II or mini-term courses. A mini-term is designed for students to complete coursework in a shorter period of time, eight weeks.  

"These shorter sessions are ideal for students for a variety of reasons," said Dr. Chantae Calhoun, Dean of Instruction. "Taking a term II course can put a student ahead of the game in earning that degree or certificate for graduation or in preparing for a course that requires a prerequisite.”  

Classes include Criminal Justice, English Composition II, Introduction to Business, Safety and First Aid, and Music Appreciation, just to name a few. CVCC is also assisting students with applying for financial aid, and a special scholarship is still available to previous students who did not return to the College after the Spring 2020 term when COVID-19 hit.  The Community Scholarship is a buy-one get-one free arrangement that will allow eligible students to receive a maximum of six credit hours of tuition free. 

“We are eager to be able to offer relief to students and their families who are feeling the financial and emotional burden of COVID-19,” explained Dr. Sherri Taylor, Dean of Students and College Services.  “We want students to finish strong in the new year and take advantage of this opportunity.”

CVCC is committed to filling 100 scholarships to eligible students on a first-come-first-serve basis. The Community Scholarship is available to students who meet certain qualifications as outlined on the College’s website.

Term II classes begin March 3.  If financial aid is needed, students should allow five to seven business days to process the paperwork.
