Chattahoochee Valley Community College Hosts “Pirate Preview Day” on Saturday

Wednesday, May 19th, 2021

Chattahoochee Valley Community College is hosting a Pirate Preview Day on Saturday, May 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 2602 College Drive, Phenix City, Alabama 36869 and is encouraging all students interested in attending CVCC to participate. College programs and offerings will be highlighted, and instructors, coaches, staff, and administration will be available to answer questions and provide tours of the campus.

According to Dr. Sherri Taylor, Dean of Students and Campus Services, “This Pirate Preview will be a “Quick One Stop” event where students can apply, be admitted, and enrolled all in one day in addition to being considered for a “Sizzling Summer Scholarship,” that will cover the cost of tuition and fees for the summer term.” Dr. Taylor stated, “CVCC wants to encourage students that have dropped out of college or have been anxious about enrolling in college to come out and see what we have to offer and allow us to guide them through the process. The application process can be intimidating, and we want to eliminate any fears and remove barriers, including financial obstacles, so that students can start their journey to a secure future now and become a member of the supportive Pirate family.”

Dr. Taylor also encouraged dual enrollment students to consider CVCC for summer term to “get ahead of the curve” and work on their college education while pursuing their high school diploma, and stated, “transient students who are students attending four-year colleges and universities should consider CVCC while they are home this summer and pay much less for classes while getting the same quality education and more individualized attention from instructors.”

Students may go online at www.cv.edu or facebook.com/CVCCPirates to obtain a checklist of what items to bring to Preview Day to apply for admissions and the Sizzling Summer Scholarship.
