St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School announces the promotion of Mrs. Heather Dalelio to the position of Lower School Assistant Principal, effective July 1, 2021. Mrs. Dalelio started working at St. Anne-Pacelli in 1999 as a 1st grade teacher. She then taught St. Anne-Pacelli Kindergarten students from 2000 until 2004, when the first of two of her children was born. She returned to St. Anne-Pacelli in 2010 and has taught Kindergarten ever since. Over the past several years, Mrs. Dalelio has also served as an assistant coach and team manager for our Vikings Middle School Soccer Teams. In her new role as Lower School Assistant Principal, she will work alongside St. Anne-Pacelli Lower School Principal Dr. Jocelyn Smith to coordinate, supervise and manage the Lower School (Preschool-8th grades).
Mrs. Dalelio, a native of Birmingham, Ala., attended Catholic school growing up and graduated from Auburn University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She holds Catholic School Leadership certificate and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Creighton University with an expected completion date of 2022.
“Mrs. Dalelio has a strong background in curriculum and instruction,” says Dr. Smith. “She is a dedicated, caring professional who works well with students. Her leadership skills have been evident in her classroom; on Mercy Hall where she has served as the primary team leader; and throughout the many school events she has had a hand in executing. I am excited to watch Mrs. Dalelio transition into this key role at our school.”
“I’m looking forward to serving St. Anne-Pacelli in this new capacity,” said Mrs. Dalelio. “I am eager to put into practice the leadership skills I have learned throughout my career in education. My goal is to inspire and mentor children and other teaching professionals to achieve their full potential and promote a higher standard of education through the use of innovative teaching strategies, technology and faith-based practices.”
When she’s not at work, Mrs. Dalelio enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and attending sporting events. Her husband, John, graduated from Pacelli High School in 1992. The Dalelios have two children who currently attend St. Anne-Pacelli: Bradley, a rising senior, and Jack, a rising freshman. The family attends St. Anne Catholic Church, where Mrs. Dalelio serves as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
