YOGC Welcomes New Marketing Director Kellie Henry

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021

Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus (YOGC) is pleased to welcome Kellie Henry as the incoming Marketing Director, effective July 1, 2021. Outgoing Director Kat Cannella resigned on good terms after three years of service in order to dedicate more time to her full-time career in real estate.

As a professional performing artist and flute instructor herself, Ms. Henry’s musical knowledge and experience provides depth and context to support her new role. She plays in a number of regional symphony orchestras across four states (GA, NC, FL, TN) and actively teaches live and virtual flute lessons through her business Henry Flute Studios. “We have loved having Kat on the team. She brought a wonderfully fresh voice to our marketing and was an incredibly valuable asset to the team. We are thrilled to see Kat succeed and look forward to seeing her at concerts. Kellie, a brilliant musician and consummate professional, will be just as amazing and valuable to the continued growth of YOGC as we recover from the long-lasting effects of the pandemic on our children’s education, the performing arts, and the wider non-profit field.” - Stephanie Payne, YOGC Executive Director.Since 1993, the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus has been teaching the area’s most talented young musicians. Led by nationally-awarded Music Director and Conductor Jim Palmer, YOGC maintains the only symphonic orchestral opportunity in the region for string, brass, wind, and percussion musicians; a string orchestra for intermediate string players; a chamber group program; a non-adjudicated music festival provided at no cost to local public school music programs; and a week-long summer string camp focused on alternative genres of music and playing styles.
