United Way hosted its 2nd Annual Black History Panel in honor of Black History Month on Thursday, February 10th at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. This year’s panelists were Pastor Carlos Coleman, Sherricka Day, Rev. Dr. J.H. Flakes III, and Geniece Granville as our guests. The panel was moderated by Ben Moser.
Ben Moser, President & CEO of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, said “Equity is the intentional inclusion of everyone in society and giving everyone the opportunity to succeed.” He added, “We are proud to host these critical discussions and learn from our community members whose voices need to be heard. We will continue to work towards a more equitable and resilient community that embraces every person’s value and gives them a chance to thrive. We can only accomplish the goal of a truly equitable community by working together.”
The attendees were welcomed by Erica Walker, United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley Board Member. The panel discussion was then started by Ben Moser.
