On Wednesday, April 20, leaders from Columbus Technical College (CTC) and Mercer University signed an articulation agreement that outlines a clear path for eligible associate degree students to obtain a bachelor’s degree.  Under this agreement that was formally signed and witnessed by members of the leadership team for both institutions, the road to educational success just became easier for students in Georgia.

Equivalent courses from CTC (a traditional two-year public college) will now seamlessly transfer to Mercer with the high probability of translating into the successful completion of a four-year degree.

“This agreement provides a clear pathway for students to transition seamlessly through identified degree program offerings.  Additionally, this newly minted partnership will enable eligible associate degree students matriculating at Columbus Technical College to pursue a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University’s College of Education, College of Professional Advancement and the School of Business in critical fields like Business, Criminal Justice, Education, Healthcare, Human Resources, Human Services, Information Technology and Psychology,” said Martha Ann Todd, President of CTC.  “We are excited to partner with Mercer University to make these opportunities available to Columbus Tech students and to serve the needs of the Chattahoochee Valley area.”

The transfer agreement will be effective beginning with the August 2022 Fall Semester cohort. Leaders from both schools are excited about this opportunity to expand student prospects for even higher job placement rates and increased earning potential as they equip future personnel for major industries in the area.
