Columbus State University announces the appointment of new leaders to its academic and administrative positions.

Felicia Moore will begin serving as the university’s purchasing director, beginning April 4. She comes to CSU from the Dougherty County School System in Albany, Georgia, where as the system’s assistant director of logistical services, she led the daily operations of the purchasing department. Before working with the school system, Moore served as the purchasing card and contract administrator for Albany State University. Her educational background includes a master of business administration and bachelor of science in business management—both from Albany State University.

Dr. Alicia Bryan has been promoted to associate provost and associate vice president of faculty affairs and academic innovation—an interim role she has held for the past 14 months. Before her Provost’s Office capacity, Bryan served as an associate professor of kinesiology in CSU’s College of Education and Health Professions. She holds a Ph.D in kinesiology, master of arts in exercise physiology, and a bachelor of arts in psychology—all from the University of Alabama.

Samantha Miller Gurski has been selected as the new director of Continuing and Professional Education. A member of the department since 2016, she served as events coordinator, program coordinator, assistant director, and, since November 2020, interim director. She currently co-chairs the USG Regents Advisory Committee on Public Service and Continuing Education and was CSU Staff Council chair for 2019-20. A CSU alum, Gurski earned a master of science degree in organizational leadership in 2019 and holds a bachelor of arts in philosophy from the University of South Carolina.
