The John B. Amos Cancer Center is one of 19 cancer centers selected to partner with Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), a national nonprofit organization, to host a series of workshops for young women diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 45.

LBBC’s Survivorship Series for Young Women is a two-part educational series that provides tailored education to women diagnosed before age 45. The series will provide answers and resources on some of the most common concerns for young women such as sex and intimacy, early menopause, the long-term effects of treatment, and self-care after breast cancer.

LBBC’s national needs assessment of young women diagnosed with breast cancer showed that young women’s survivorship needs were not being adequately addressed and that young women wanted more information and support on specific survivorship issues.
