Columbus Technical College Recognized by Mayor

On Wednesday, May 10, in Council Chambers Columbus, GA Mayor B. H. "Skip" Henderson III and the Council Member delegation formally recognized the work of the Columbus Technical College (CTC) Emergency Medical Service (EMS) program as a leader in vocational education during the 47th annual National EMS Week. 
 
A formal proclamation was initiated by District 1 City Councilmember Jerry “Pop” Barnes and presented to the CTC leadership team and department heads during the Mayor’s Agenda portion of the council meeting.  Representative Barnes is a Registered Nurse has been a longstanding supporter of paramedics, emergency service and community programs in and around the area. 
 
The proclamation identified CTC’s commitment to both students and the community at large and highlighted valuable relationships with local EMS departments, hospitals, health care facilities, and the community. The program was also praised for providing students with a practical application-driven learning experience through innovation, best practice, and real-life educational experience.  
 
This year’s national EMS campaign recognizes professionals who provide emergency medical services in communities across the country is appropriately themed, “RISING TO THE CHALLENGE.”
 
The council took time to emphasize how CTC’s is rising to the challenge by providing state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that evoke true to life and authentic experiences for candidates matriculating through medical programs.
