In response to the community’s educational and workforce-training needs, Columbus Technical College is pleased to honor military and adult education learners for their commitment to Georgia and the nation, through its English Language Learner program.

On last night, May 12, the college leadership team, students and staff celebrated the dedication, commitment, and resiliency of candidates receiving English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learner certification.

“At Columbus Technical College, we’re extremely proud of our diverse population and our ongoing partnership with Fort Benning,” said Martha Ann Todd, President.  "I am delighted to be celebrating this occasion and what it means both personally and professionally to everyone involved."

Recent data trends show that English is the world's second largest native language and the official universal language of over 70 countries.

CTC's commitment to ESL and ELL learners extends beyond academic degree programs to ensure that positive outcomes are created in the lives of adult learners seeking to enhance their skillset.

Some students attended the ceremony last evening in outfits honoring their tradition and heritage as formal congratulations were extended by college officials for reaching this milestone.
