Local Students to Receive New State-Of-The-Art Culinary Facility

Staff Report

Thursday, September 8th, 2022

On Monday, September 12, 2022, Columbus Technical College (CTC) will cordon off an area in the institution to begin demolition for a new state-of-the-art culinary facility for current and future students in the program.  The leadership team of the college will host key community partners, board members and trustees to formally charge the construction team with the culinary renovation project.

CTC will partner with local design and construction officials to renovate an existing section of the Patrick Hall building on the college’s campus.  The project will include the creation of a formal teaching kitchen, a baking kitchen, a demonstration classroom, and a café.

Thanks to generous donations from community leaders, this development will aid in meeting key long range institutional goals, ensure program growth, and provide a much-needed workforce in the college service area.  The addition will allow student matriculation to increase dramatically over the next three years.  With demolition beginning early next week, the anticipated completion of the fully renovated state-of-the-art culinary facility is slated for January 2024.
