Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Home of the Pirates, welcomes new and prospective students to apply to CVCC as the College gears up for Spring Semester classes beginning January 9, 2023.
Whether you are a recent high school graduate, GED recipient, transferring from another college, or you are returning to college after stopping for a while, CVCC is an excellent choice for you and your future. According to Dr. Sherri Taylor, Dean of Students and Campus Services, “CVCC is not only a solid academic decision, it’s a good financial decision. Students may receive an associate degree or certificates in programs such as Welding, Industrial Maintenance, Medical Assisting, Criminal Justice, and many more. CVCC offers in-class, online, hybrid, and weekend classes. Our classes easily transfer to a four-year college or university, and if you live within a 50-mile radius of the campus, there is no out-of-state fee. Students pay much less to attend a community college, and the quality of the education is outstanding not to mention the individualized attention and opportunities for campus engagement and student leadership.” Dr. Taylor went on to emphasize, “at CVCC, students have opportunities as freshman and sophomores that only upper classmen have at four-year colleges and universities. We offer an array of clubs, organizations, athletics teams, and leadership roles for incoming students. Students can become involved in the College and learn practical, professional, and necessary soft skills that assist them in building their resumes and standing “out” among job applicants when they begin their careers after degree completion,” stated Dr. Taylor.
CVCC staff and faculty work together to provide admissions assistance along with one-on-one advising as well as registration assistance. Prospective students may complete a CVCC application online at CV.EDU or come to the Admissions Office at the College for walk in assistance.
Current and potential students may also schedule an appointment for registration by calling Amanda Gamble, Recruiter, at 334-291-4998 or emailing her at [email protected].
CVCC is also assisting students with applying for financial aid. According to Melissa Creasy, Executive Director of Financial Aid and Title IV Compliance, “if students are depending on financial aid, they should immediately submit a FAFSA application at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa and allow five to seven business days after the College receives the FAFSA for the College to process the information. The earlier students submit a FAFSA, the earlier we can process their aid if they are eligible”.
