Regional Non-Profit CEO Appointed to Meals On Wheels of GA Board

Amy Bryan, Chief Executive Officer of Direct Services, has been elected to the Meals on Wheels Association of Georgia (MOWAG) Board of Directors.
Affiliated with Meals On Wheels America, the Meals On Wheels Association of Georgia is a non-profit statewide network of senior nutrition providers allied in passion to end senior hunger. MOWAG was created to strengthen communication between nutrition programs and enhance knowledge of topical issues within the aging population. The Meals On Wheels Association of Georgia (MOWAG) strives to fulfill the national goals set forth by Meals on Wheels America on a statewide basis. We are an organization on the move and invite all Meals on Wheels providers across Georgia for membership.
“Amy’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for our Region, as the need to serve the elderly and disabled continues to grow, Amy’s advocacy role at the State level and beyond is critical” said Robert Wadkins, Jr., board Chair for Direct Services.
Amy has been in her role with Direct Services for eighteen months, in that time, Amy has increased funding and other resources for the organization, realigned staffing for efficiency purposes and has added services to an additional county making the service area over 16 counties.
Prior to her position at Direct Services, Amy spent 13.5 years at the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Vice President of Community and Leadership Development.

We serve a demographic that is growing significantly faster than the rest of the population, it is important that all service providers stay engaged in order for our Regional to be at the forefront for resources” said Amy Bryan, CEO of Direct Services. Additionally, Amy stated that, “Meals on Wheels Association of Georgia provides a plethora of resources and I look forward to learning more from those that have been in this line of service for many years.”
