In just four days, the American Red Cross of Georgia, with assistance from community partners, has been able to serve approximately 1,415 meals, resulting primarily through onsite and mobile distribution efforts. Furthermore, due to a fortunate break in the weather, Damage Assessment teams have made great progress out in the field. So far, 311 total assessments have occurred, with approximately 213 properties identified as being destroyed or with major damage. That number is expected to increase in the days, and weeks, to come.

Additionally, Emergency Response teams, in partnership with local officials, are opening a new shelter in Montezuma, Georgia later today.
