Piedmont Columbus Regional’s annual Physician Recognition Reception was recently held at Millhouse Kitchen + Bar on May 4.

“We created the program in 2014 to acknowledge the vital role our medical staff members play in the success of our organization,” said Piedmont Columbus Regional CEO Scott Hill. “Patients and employees nominate physicians that have made an impact on them.”

The program recognizes a physician of the year in the categories of leadership, clinical care and teaching.

Below are the award winners for 2023:

• Excellence in Clinical Care, Midtown Campus- David Flowers, M.D.

• Howard S. Weldon, Jr. Excellence in Physician Leadership Award- Darius Brown, D.O. 

• Excellence in Clinical Care, Northside Campus- Promise Chidi, M.D. 

• Excellence in Teaching- Fahd Syed, M.D.

Additionally, the Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation inducted 24 physicians in the 2023 Honored Society. These physicians had grateful patients make contributions to the Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation in their honor.
