In September 2023, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) District 3 was awarded four projects. 

The first investment in the District will be in Harris and Muscogee Counties. This project will be a resurfacing one of 14 miles on State Route 85 and State Route 1 to North Central Church Road. It will cost approximately $18.8 million and was awarded to C.W. Matthews Contracting Company, INC.

In Marion County, there is an investment for a bridge rehabilitation on Pineville Road at the Kinchafoochee Creek. The cost will be approximately $2 million and the contract was awarded to Southern Concrete Company. 

The third investment will be in Schley for a bridge rehabilitation located at Ebenezer Road at the Muckalee Creek, 7.5 miles west of Ellaville. The cost will be approximately $2.7 million. The contract was awarded to Southern Concrete Company.

The last investment is located in Talbot County. This bridge reconstruction will be located at State Route 190 and Norfolk Southern Railroad. The cost will be approximately $3.8 million. The contract was awarded to Griffin Grading & Concrete, LLC.
