Uptown Columbus Honors Veterans Through The Veterans on Veterans Military Tribute Street Banner Program

Wednesday, November 8th, 2023

This Veterans Day, Uptown Columbus continues to honor the amazing men and women of our community for the second year in a row through the Veterans on Veterans Street Banner Program. As you drive along Veterans Parkway, each side of the street is filled with images of heroes in our hometown as a way to honor the sacrifices they made for our Country.

Applications are still open for The Veterans on Veterans Street Banner Program allowing friends and family members to recognize individuals in a unique way with a full-color banner to be displayed on Veterans Parkway in Uptown Columbus.

The Veterans on Veterans Street Banner program has been developed in collaboration with Georgia Power Company and the City of Columbus.  In addition, the program received a start-up donation from the Elizabeth Fry and Dupont Kirven Foundation, Inc. “The banners are just one small way to say thank you to our loved ones for the biggest sacrifice one can make,” said Event Coordinator, Hannah Patchin. “My family had one installed for my Grandad and he was overjoyed. It’s been extremely special to pass it each day along with so many other heroes from our community. We are very thankful for everyone's support to make this wonderful project happen.”
