U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock successfully secured $500,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending to support a community project led by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley. The project will focus on supporting youth and teens in the Chattahoochee Valley in achieving success as they plan for the future. This will include preparation support for Post-Secondary Education, Career Access opportunities including Work-Based Learning and targeted skills development and training.

“On behalf of our Club and our young members, we are so thankful for the continued support and leadership by Senator Warnock,” said Rodney Close, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley. “This funding will enable Clubs to continue providing critical community support while we meet an increased demand for these vital services that can make a world of difference in the lives of our young people.”

Key Features of the Community Project:

  • Certification Programs: A range of certification programs in various fields, providing teens with practical skills and qualifications for career readiness.
  • College Preparation: Comprehensive college prep services, including SAT/ACT prep courses, college application assistance, and scholarship guidance.
  • Mentorship & Guidance: Access to mentors and advisors who can provide personalized guidance and support in navigating career and college pathways.

“I fought hard to ensure the government funding legislation made strong investments in communities all across Georgia and new opportunities for our children, which is why I am thrilled to have secured this funding for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley to expand educational resources and career training,” said Senator Reverend Warnock. “As a father of two young kids, I understand the desire to provide a better life for our children and provide opportunities that enable them to make their dreams a reality. I will continue to do all I can to deliver investments and resources to help Georgia families to do just that.”
