Thursday, June 20th, 2024

Major concert artists, a contemporary Broadway Series, a world-renowned astrophysicist, and muliple tour start-ups, including the return of Spider-Man, highlight the RiverCenter 2024-25 Season.

The season begins with two tour launches: Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert on August 16 and the sequel to last season’s film, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Live In Concert on August 31. Both new productions feature screenings of the animated films fronted by live orchestras, providing an exciting and immersive experience.

A unique cultural experience awaits September 8-14, as the Buddhist monks of the Drepung Loseling Monastery are in residence at RiverCenter for The Mystical Arts of Tibet. During this time, the monks will create a mandala sand painting in the lobby, which will be free and open to the public and streamed live online. The Opening Ceremony begins at 3 PM on Sunday, September 8 and the Closing Ceremony takes place at 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 14, including a procession to disperse the mandala sand into the Chattahoochee River, carrying the goodwill and prayers of the monks to the community.

The 2024-25 Broadway Series features five contemporary shows including The Addams Family, Mean Girls, Dear Evan Hansen, Chicago, and Ain’t Too Proud. “We are pleasantly surprised that this year’s Broadway Series includes three shows never before seen in Columbus,” said RiverCenter Executive Director Norman Easterbrook. “We will also be launching four new national tours and this will afford area audiences opportunities to experience top quality, professionallly mounted performances for the very first time.” Broadway subscribers may also choose to include an additional show,Menopause the Musical 2: Cruising Through ‘The Change’ as part of their package.

Following on the heels of very successful concerts by artists Foreigner and Amy Grant in the 2023-24 Season, RiverCenter will bring more concert artists to the stage this season, beginning with blues artist Keb’Mo’ and Shawn Colvin on September 28, Air Supply on October 12, country star Trace Adkins on October 19, Grand Funk Railroad on March 8, and Grammy Award winners Lorrie Morgan & Pam Tillis in their Grits and Glamour Tour on April 3.

Jazz lovers will rejoice as Jazz at Lincoln Center: The New Orleans Songbook comes to RiverCenter on March 7, and “Wheel Watchers” will have a chance to spin the wheel themselves as Wheel of Fortune Live! launches their national tour from the RiverCenter stage on September 22.
