Columbus Technical College to Close Campus and Transition to Virtual Learning Due to Hurricane Helene

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, September 26th, 2024

In anticipation of dangerous weather conditions from Hurricane Helena, Columbus Technical College will close its campus and transition to virtual learning from Thursday, September 26, through Saturday, September 28, 2024. This decision has been made with the safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff as our top priority.

All in-person classes and campus activities are canceled, and the college will operate remotely during this period. Students are encouraged to continue their coursework online through the virtual learning platform. Faculty and staff will also work remotely.

We expect to resume normal campus operations on Monday, September 30, 2024. Any updates will be communicated via email, text messages, and through the college's social media platforms.

We urge everyone to follow local authorities' guidance, stay informed about the storm’s progress, and take appropriate safety measures during this time.
