Columbus Technical College is proud to announce JeJuan Collins as the 2024 Alumna of the Year. The announcement was made during the College's Fall Professional Development Day on October 18.  Professional Development Day is a biannual event that brings together faculty and staff for a day of learning, collaboration, and celebration.

JeJuan Collins, a Welding Instructor at Columbus Technical College, exemplifies excellence in both her profession and her commitment to lifelong learning. She graduated from Columbus Tech with a diploma in Welding and Joining Technology and an Associate Degree in Technical Studies. Throughout her studies, Collins earned numerous certifications in the welding field, further solidifying her expertise and dedication to the craft. 

Collins is actively involved in promoting non-traditional careers for women, encouraging students to pursue technical fields that challenge stereotypes. As a passionate advocate, she serves as a SkillsUSA Advisor, where she guides students to hone their technical skills and compete on both state and national stages. Collins is also a Dual Enrollment Instructor, mentoring high school students and providing them with early access to career-building skills through the College's Welding and Joining Technology program.

Beyond her professional achievements, Collins is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She volunteers with Girls Inc. and the Boys & Girls Club, offering her time and expertise to empower young people and support programs that foster personal development, leadership, and career readiness.

In her role as an instructor, Collins is shaping the next generation of welders, inspiring them with her hands-on experience and passion for the industry. Her recognition as Alumna of the Year underscores her dedication to the College and her ongoing contributions to the field of welding.
