Local First Responders to Benefit from Georgia’s PTSD Legislation

Law enforcement, dispatchers, and other first responders are now entitled to a valuable new benefit thanks to Georgia House Bill 451. If diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) while on the job, these benefits will help pay medical bills not covered by insurance.
The people we spoke with were excited to hear about this new program. Some say as first responders, they never know what situation they will deal with on a day-to-day basis.
