Local Efforts Ramp Up Water Safety with New Life Jacket Stations

More than 300 children under the age of 15 die by drowning in the U.S. each year. That’s a number that one local organization wants to decrease by making sure life jackets are available in the Chattahoochee Valley.

Dozens have drowned on the Chattahoochee River or gone missing because they underestimate the power of the rapids and undercurrent or overestimate how well they can swim. One local organization is making sure you are safe before you get into any body of water. Life vests from infant size to adult are available at seven locations across the Chattahoochee Valley.
