Renowned Storyteller and Musician Allen Levi to Present Theo of Golden at Columbus Public Library

Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is pleased to welcome acclaimed Southern storyteller and musician Allen Levi for a special evening of conversation and community centered around his breathtaking novel, Theo of Golden.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 13, at 6:30pm in the W.C. Bradley Reading Room on the second floor of the Columbus Public Library, located at 3000 Macon Road. Admission is free, and no advance reservations or tickets are required.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Levi, hear insights about his writing process, and explore the inspiration behind Theo of GoldenLevi will be available to sign books both before and after the presentation, and copies of the novel will be available for purchase at the event with both cash and credit card accepted.

Levi, who left behind a successful law career to follow his passion for music and storytelling, has toured extensively and released over twenty albums. His debut novel, Theo of Golden, tells the endearing story of a mysterious man who arrives in a southern city and quietly embarks on a campaign of anonymous generosity. Though fictional, the novel’s setting of Golden, Georgia, will feel familiar to many local readers, with clear nods to the landmarks, culture, and people of Columbus. Levi is currently working on a sequel, Ellen of Golden.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate local talent, storytelling, and the unique spirit of Columbus,” said Tiffany Wilson, Community Engagement Coordinator at the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries. “Allen Levi’s work captures the heart of our region, and we’re thrilled to host him as part of the NEA Big Read Columbus.”

This event is presented as part of the NEA Big Read Columbus celebration of Where We Live. NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. Local support for Where We Live is provided by Chattahoochee Valley Libraries, the Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians at Columbus State University, and the Muscogee County Library Foundation.
