UGA Athletics Brings Historic Archive to Columbus Public Library

The Chattahoochee Valley Libraries are thrilled to announce that "UGA Athletics in Your Town," a special traveling exhibit from the University of Georgia Athletic Association archives, will be making a stop at the Columbus Public Library on Thursday, June 26 from 11 AM to 4 PM.
This unique exhibit offers a fantastic opportunity for local residents to explore the extensive history of Georgia Bulldogs athletics through a captivating collection of historic artifacts. Jason Hasty, Athletics History Specialist for the UGA Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, will be on hand to showcase these materials as part of a statewide summer tour.
"We're thrilled to partner with The Hargrett Library to bring this incredible exhibit showcasing Georgia's athletic heritage to the Chattahoochee Valley," said Tiffany Wilson from the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries. "This exhibit perfectly aligns with our mission to provide convenient access to ideas and opportunities for discovery, offering a fun and engaging experience for sports fans and families alike right here in our community."
Jason Hasty emphasizes the significance of the exhibit, stating, "The UGA Athletic Association archive contains more than a century of the physical history of UGA Athletics. This traveling exhibit is a great way to take some of the most interesting artifacts we have in this archive to communities all across Georgia for a fun, family-friendly event."
