Columbus Airport Reopens With New Concrete Runway After Four-Month Closure

The Columbus airport reopened Friday with a new concrete runway after nearly four months of renovations, just in time for the Christmas travel season.

The runway was converted from asphalt to concrete during the closure. Airport officials said the concrete surface is more durable and will allow heavier planes to land.
