St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School Welcomes New Head Softball Coach
Friday, January 16th, 2026
Coach Hudson brings a strong background in competitive travel softball and a passion for athlete development - both on and off the field. Over the past four years, he has been deeply involved in the travel ball world, beginning as an assistant coach in 2021 before stepping into a head coaching role in 2023. Most recently, he coached under the TN Mojo organization, competing across the Southeast against top-ranked teams while working with athletes from Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia.
While his teams have experienced competitive success, Coach Hudson says the most meaningful part of coaching has always been watching his athletes grow - not just as players, but as people. This past summer, he led a team through an age-division move, hosting tryouts in Birmingham, Destin, and Orange Beach and selecting 14 athletes from a pool of 47. His focus throughout the season centered on leading by example, teaching life lessons that extend beyond the game, and developing athletes who embrace hard work and perseverance.
“My philosophy always comes back to consistency, setting the standard early, and making sure every athlete understands they are more than their performance,” Coach Hudson said. “I live by the saying, ‘Be the reason that someone believes in good people,’” he said. “That’s the type of character I want to help develop in our student-athletes.”
As he prepares for his first season, Coach Hudson is focused on doing right by his players and helping them shine in high-pressure moments. His goal is for the Pacelli community to see a difference - not just in performance, but in composure, resilience, and confidence when adversity strikes.
With a background in mental health, Coach Hudson also emphasizes kindness, humility, and personal responsibility, encouraging athletes to represent themselves and their school well in the classroom, in the community, and online.
Originally from Andalusia, Alabama, Coach Hudson played baseball through his sophomore year of college before shifting his focus to academics following Tommy John surgery. He looks forward to building relationships within the Pacelli community and connecting with families and supporters.
