The Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation (MEEF) announced 53 Muscogee County School District (MCSD) Teacher of the Year (TOTY) Honorees on January 29, 2026, at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.

The MEEF Board of Directors recognized these educators for their exceptional commitment to teaching excellence. “These Honorees reflect the essence of our mission to celebrate extraordinary teachers,” said MEEF Chair Wes Kelley. “Their passion, innovation, and dedication create meaningful learning experiences that benefit students and enrich our community.”

Throughout the year, these outstanding teachers—selected by their individual schools—will be recognized in several ways, beginning with today’s public announcement and a breakfast event featuring the National and State Teachers of the Year. Their recognition culminates with the Teacher of the Year Gala on Thursday, May 7, at the Trade Center.

At the Gala, business and community champions of education will gather to honor some of MCSD’s most talented and exceptional teachers. The 2026 MCSD Teacher of the Year will also be revealed before an audience of over 1,100 public education supporters. Tickets to the Gala go on sale March 23rd at the RiverCenter Box Office for $70 each.

The Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation (MEEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering educational excellence by recognizing and rewarding innovative and exceptionally effective teachers in the Muscogee County School District. The Foundation has awarded over $3.4 million to teachers in MCSD, through financial incentives in the TOTY program, the MEEF Grant program, the MEEF Endowment Fund, the STEM T3 program, the Harvard Fellows program, and the Buntin Schools of Excellence initiative.
