Columbus Technical College (CTC) is proud to announce that its
Carpentry Program, students, and Program Director Gordon Unrein are featured in an upcoming three-part docuseries sponsored by the Lowe’s Foundation. The series highlights workforce development programs across the nation that are making a lasting impact through skilled trades education.

The docuseries follows three exceptional programs—Columbus Technical College (Georgia), Coconino Community College (Arizona), and She Built This City (North Carolina)—as they demonstrate how hands-on training, mentorship, and industry partnerships prepare students for successful careers. Columbus Technical College’s feature showcases the dedication of its Carpentry students and the leadership of Gordon Unrein, with a special focus on their experiences and achievements through SkillsUSA competitions.

“We are incredibly excited to see our students and program recognized on a national platform,” said Gordon Unrein, Carpentry Program Director at Columbus Technical College. “This series highlights the real-world skills our students are developing and the opportunities that career and technical education can provide.”

The college president also praised the recognition, noting the broader impact of the program.

“This national spotlight reinforces the value of technical education and the life-changing opportunities it creates,” said College President, Martha Ann Todd. “We are tremendously proud of our Carpentry Program, our students, and the faculty who prepare them to succeed in the workforce and in competitions like SkillsUSA.”

The docuseries will premiere Saturday, April 11, at 10:00 AM on the Magnolia Network, with episodes available for streaming the following day. Viewers are encouraged to watch the official trailer for a preview of the series.
