Friday, April 10th, 2026
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is proud to announce the 2026 Columbus Women of Distinction, an inspiring group of leaders who exemplify the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law and serve as exceptional role models for girls.
The Women of Distinction Award recognizes women whose contributions have made a lasting impact on their communities and beyond. These honorees reflect the mission of Girl Scouts through their leadership, service, and commitment to making the world a better place.
This year’s distinguished honorees are Dr. Kia L. Chambers, Susan Gallagher, Geniece R. Granville, and Buffy Swinehart. Each of these women has demonstrated outstanding dedication to leadership and community impact, embodying the spirit of courage, confidence, and character.
The honorees will be celebrated at a special dinner on May 7, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Columbus State University’s Cunningham Center. The evening will bring together community leaders, supporters, and advocates to recognize these remarkable women and their contributions.
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia extends its sincere appreciation to Aflac, the premier sponsor of the 2026 Columbus Women of Distinction event, for their generous support in helping make this celebration possible.
Proceeds from the event will support Girl Scouts programming, ensuring girls across the region have access to experiences that empower them to lead, grow, and thrive.
Tickets and sponsorships are available. For more information about the event or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Sophronia Jones, at [email protected].
