Chattahoochee River Club Closes After 34 Years on Columbus Riverfront

A long‑standing fixture of the Columbus riverfront has closed after more than three decades.
The Chattahoochee River Club, a private, non‑discriminatory fine dining establishment, officially ceased operations on May 1, citing economic challenges, declining membership and rising costs associated with maintaining its aging facility at 1100 Bay Avenue.
Club leaders say the post‑COVID shift to remote work resulted in fewer members returning to offices, reducing regular lunch and dinner traffic at the club. At the same time, the cost of major capital repairs became increasingly difficult for the membership to sustain.
