Columbus Porchfest Brings Free Live Music, Local Art, and Community Celebration to Uptown This Saturday, May 2

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, May 1st, 2026

Columbus Porchfest will make its debut this Saturday, May 2, 2026,
bringing a full day of free live music, local art, food, vendors, and community celebration to the Uptown Columbus Historic District.

Presented by Uptown Columbus, this free, family-friendly event transforms front porches into stages, filling the neighborhood with music from noon to 6:00 p.m., followed by a free after-party concert from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Chattahoochee Promenade featuring Red & the Revelers from Mobile, Alabama.

“Porchfest is about more than music,” said Melody Kiser, producer of Columbus Porchfest. “It’s about seeing a neighborhood come alive. It’s neighbors welcoming neighbors, musicians sharing their art, families walking from porch to porch, and the whole city experiencing Uptown in a new way.”

Throughout the day, attendees can stroll from porch to porch and enjoy a wide variety of local and regional talent, with genres ranging from rock, jazz, country, folk, R&B, classical, singer- songwriter, blues, and more. Each artist set is approximately one hour, giving festivalgoers the chance to hear something completely different every hour as the streets of Uptown ring with music and culture.

In addition to the porch performances, Columbus Porchfest will feature arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, local businesses, family-friendly activities, and a People’s Choice Awards that allows attendees to support and vote for their favorite performers.

The celebration continues after the porch performances with a free concert at the Chattahoochee Promenade from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. featuring Red & the Revelers, a high-energy rock and soul band from Mobile, Alabama known for their powerful horn section, deep grooves, and feel-good live show.

Columbus Porchfest is designed to celebrate local creativity, highlight the beauty of the Historic District, and bring people into the heart of Uptown for a day of connection, culture, and community.

“We wanted to create something that feels welcoming, walkable, and uniquely Columbus,” Kiser said. “You can bring your family, meet your friends, discover new artists, support local vendors, and experience this beautiful neighborhood in a way that feels personal and alive.”

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, wear comfortable shoes, and bring a lawn chair or blanket. Event maps and schedules will be available so guests can easily find porch locations, artist times, vendors, food, and festival amenities. Columbus Porchfest is free to attend.
