Bicycle Columbus is thrilled to announce that it has hired a new full-time Executive Director, Stacy Roberts. 

Bicycle Columbus’ mission is to promote safe walking and bicycling for transportation and recreation and to advocate for improved bicycle and pedestrian conditions in Columbus, Georgia. Since its founding in 2012, it has been 100% volunteer run. In 2024, it expanded its mission to promote pedestrian safety. Every year it hosts several community events, including free bicycle maintenance clinics and Ride with the Mayor. The addition of its first full-time Executive Director marks a major milestone in Bicycle Columbus' continued growth and impact

Stacy Roberts said, “My full time focus will be to create a safer Columbus for all who bike, walk, and roll. As a mother of a 10 year old boy who once walked to school himself, I see it as an imperative to lose no more lives to dangerous roads. It is a preventable problem, and our action plan includes community events, audits of safety conditions for pedestrians and cyclists, continuous advocacy through media channels and local government, and partnerships with community organizations.

Stacy has spent years serving the community through real estate and marketing, demonstrating her heart for strengthening neighborhoods and serving the most vulnerable among us. She looks forward to leading our organization in fulfilling its mission to make walking and biking in Columbus, Georgia, safe, accessible, and normal for all, while advancing our vision of a thriving, vibrant community where all people have a place.

Bicycle Columbus’ growth has been fueled by community support, as well as grants from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and the Jackson-Burgin Foundation in Columbus.
