Columbus Ranks Among Best Places for First-Time Homebuyers, New Report Shows

A new national report is giving local house hunters some good news, ranking Columbus as one of the top midsize cities in the country for first-time homebuyers.
According to a 2026 study released by the personal finance website WalletHub, the Fountain City landed at number 67 out of 102 on the list of best midsize cities for first-time buyers.
When stacked up against all 300 cities surveyed across the entire country—regardless of size—Columbus secured the 168th spot overall.
