Applications Open for 2026 Citizens’ Government Academy in Columbus

Applications are now open to Muscogee County residents to learn more about their local government.
The 2026 Citizens’ Government Academy will be held on each Thursday from Sept. 3 until Nov. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. According to officials, each session will be held at different Columbus Consolidated Government facilities.
Only 30 individuals will be selected to attend, and they must meet the following criteria:
- At least 18 years old
- Reside in Muscogee County
- If they don’t live in the area, they must own or operate a business in the county.
