Clingstones Honor Theo Golden, Announce Ballpark Name Change

The Columbus Clingstones played their last home game of the season Sunday, falling to the Pensacola Wahoos 8-6 at Synovus Park.
Earlier this season, the team introduced the a wiffle ball field called The Golden Lot, named for Theodore Golden. On Sunday, the team continued honoring him by unveiling a bronze bust of him.
Honoring Theodore Golden
In 1908, Theodore Golden brought a baseball team called the Columbus Electrics to the Southern League. In 1926, the ballpark now known as Synovus Park was named Golden Park in his honor.
As of Sunday, a bust of Golden sits in front of it the Golden Lot.
