Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) has been awarded
$25,000 from Alabama Construction Industry Craft Training (CICT) to launch an accelerated HVAC FastTrack Training program aimed at addressing the demand for skilled HVAC technicians. 

The 11-week program will provide intensive, hands-on training for a cohort of 10 students, covering electrical fundamentals, refrigeration principles, brazing, charging and recovery procedures, system diagnostics, preventive maintenance, safety practices, and HVAC installation techniques. The program is designed to prepare participants with practical skills that align with industry needs and support a faster transition into the workforce. 

“Workforce development is about more than training—it is about creating opportunities for individuals while strengthening the industries and communities we serve,” said CVCC President Annette Funderburk. “This complements the $612,000 in additional grant funding recently secured to expand workforce training opportunities. We are committed to aggressively pursuing resources that remove barriers to training, respond to employer needs, and prepare Alabamians for high-demand careers that contribute to the economic vitality of our region and state.”
