The Alternative Baseball Organization brought its “Superstation” game to the CVCC baseball field, pairing its players with local athletes and media personalities for an inclusive matchup.

Participants included members of the Columbus River Dragons, the Columbus Lions, front office staff from the Columbus Clingstones organization, and WTVM Sports Director Tony Reese.

The Alternative Baseball Organization, or A.B.O., was founded in 2016 by Taylor C. Duncan after he saw few options for adults with autism and other disabilities to continue playing the sport he loved.

“I was diagnosed on the spectrum myself and just didn’t have the same opportunities as everybody else to play the traditional sport of baseball,” Duncan said. “Those opportunities to continue gaining the life skills and social skills after they graduated out of high school, there’s a much bigger mission to that than I realized.”
