The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) has newly released graduation 
rates for the 2025-2026 graduating class. Muscogee County School District (MCSD)’s seniors excelled  and out-performed the state’s average once again.

The District’s graduation rate grew 0.2% over the  previous year resulting in a new personal best for MCSD of 96.3%. Superintendent Dr. David Lewis acknowledges the community effort that enables our graduates to succeed stating “We are pleased and proud to see the graduation rate continue to improve in 2026. This  progress reflects the perseverance of our students, the dedication of our teachers and staff, and our  intentional efforts to identify students who need additional support and intervene early. Our goal is not  simply graduation, but ensuring every student is prepared for what comes next, whether they choose to  enroll, enlist, or enter the workforce. We celebrate the Class of 2026 and remain committed to helping  every student succeed in school and beyond.” 

These percentages represent the district’s four-year cohort graduation rate and includes all students  who have successfully completed high school within four years.  In addition to being a commonly used metric for school and student success, it is a key indicator used by the state for calculating the College  and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI).  At the state and national-level, a graduation rate of 90%  is the standard for success.

At an individual level, most MCSD high schools exhibited an improvement in their graduation rates as well for the 2026 cohort. 
• All nine high schools achieved a graduation rate of 92% or above 
• 5 schools achieved an all-time high graduation rate: Carver, Hardaway, Jordan,  Kendrick, and Shaw 
• Two schools maintained a 100% graduation rate: Columbus and Rainey-McCullers 
• All MCSD High Schools (nine) were above the State average: Carver, Columbus, Hardaway, Jordan, Kendrick, Northside, Rainey-McCullers, Shaw and Spencer.
