Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission 2026 Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Day

The Columbus Consolidated Government, Department of Public Works Columbus Recycles Recycling Division, and Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) & Electronic Equipment Recycling Project will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2025, from 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. This is a drive-thru event to be held at the Columbus Recycling and Sustainability Center, 8001 Pine Grove Way, Columbus, GA 31907. 

The event gives Columbus residents an opportunity to properly dispose of household hazardous waste and recycle accepted electronics.  Accepted items include household cleaning products; lawn care and pool chemicals; fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides; latex and oil-based paint, paint thinners and furniture stripper; automotive fluids, oil filters and car batteries; and computers, printers, fax machines, copiers and other consumer electronics. Televisions will not be accepted. 

Residents are also encouraged to bring gently used shoes to support KCBC’s 2026 Shoe Recycle Campaign. 

“Events like this give our residents a convenient opportunity to properly dispose of materials that can be harmful to our community and environment,” said Lisa Thomas-Cutts, Executive Director of Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission. 

“Responsible disposal is an important part of keeping Columbus clean, safe and environmentally sustainable.”
