Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, October 22nd, 2026

Columbus Consolidated Government invites public comments on the environmental review for proposed renovations to the Urban League of the Chattahoochee Valley’s historic headquarters at 802 1st Avenue.

The project would use $500,000 in federal Community Project Funding to improve the building and support expanded programs and services.

Planned improvements include exterior renovations, an updated front entrance, new windows, outdoor lighting, an accessibility ramp and a new agency sign with a message board. Interior improvements would create flexible
event space with soundproof room dividers so multiple activities can take place at the same time.

The environmental review record is available for public review at City Hall, 1111 1st Avenue, third floor, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Written comments must be received by October 26, 2026. Please email comments to Emma Kimbrel in the Community Reinvestment Department at [email protected].

The City will consider all comments received by the deadline before submitting its request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to release the funds. The request is expected to be submitted on or about
October 27, 2026.
